In a session otherwise dominated by lower corrections in soybean, corn, and wheat prices, enthusiastic speculative buying interest for old-crop, hard-milling wheat gave some Minneapolis futures a major boost.

USW: Downside Risk in WASDE Wheat -- USDA projected a big 2008/09 world wheat crop last Friday, but weather in Canada and Australia may trim the output, according to U.S. Wheat Associates Senior Market Analyst Joe Sowers.

LIVESTOCK -- DTN Closing Livestock Comments 05/12 16:18
The cattle pit settled on a mixed basis with live contracts modestly lower and feeder issues significantly higher. The latter was primarily supported by a substantial sell-off in the corn market. Pork futures ended mostly lower though the front end of the lean pit was modestly supported by cash strength in the country.
