Will Bentley

Mr. Will Bentley has agreed to become the President of the Georgia Agribusiness Council.. Will served as the Executive Vice President of the 5,500-member Georgia Cattlemen’s Association and the Georgia Beef Board. In these roles, he has been extremely active in local, state and federal policy formulation and advocacy, and has direct lobbying experience in our Capital. He is well known in Georgia by our Elected officials and within the Agribusiness community.

Bentley is originally from Thomaston, GA., where he and his family own and operate Bentley Farms. He is a Shorter College graduate with a major in business marketing and a minor in communications. Will serves on the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine Advisory Council. He is also a member of the UGA AgriAbility Board, the Macon Civic Club, the Advancing Georgia’s Leaders in Agriculture Board, and is a member of Leadership Georgia class of 2017.

Will is married to Ember Bishop Bentley and the couple lives in Macon, GA with their dog, Gordon. The Bentley’s attend Vineville United Methodist Church.

Dr. John C. McKissick
Interim President
Dr. McKissick started on September 6, 2018 and has been a long time Board Member of The Council.  He comes to us from The University of Georgia as Professor Emeritus where he held the UGA Distinguished Professorship of Agricultural Marketing.  During his 40 year career with UGA, he has worked in numerous positions as an Agricultural Economist supporting Georgia Agribusiness. State, Regional and National professional, as well as industry groups, and UGA have recognized Dr. McKissick many times with signature awards for his contributions. Post retirement, Dr. McKissick has continued his industry work in an advisory capacity with Georgia Agricultural organizations and was recently recognized by Georgia Farm Bureau for his continuing dedication to Agriculture with their Commodity Award.  He notes that perhaps his most noteworthy career achievement has been that he was an invited speaker, at least once, in each of Georgia’s 159 counties! 

Jill Hansard
Business Manager
Jill Hansard joined the Georgia Agribusiness Council staff in 2003 and serves as the Business Manager. In her position, Jill manages the over all office needs as well as handles accounts payable, receivable, banking and database management for GAC, along with day-to-day administrative support. Jill also helps support our Foundation and AgPAC needs.

She graduated from Georgia State University in 1995.  Jill is married to Greg and they have 2 beautiful children, her son is in college at Shorter University and her daughter is in high school at East Jackson.  They currently live in Jefferson Georgia. 

Delta Cartee
Receptionist/Member Services

Delta Cartee joined the organization in 2006. As the receptionist and member services assistant for the Georgia Agribusiness Council, Delta performs general office operations, assists Council members and is responsible for day-to-day membership responsibilities. She enjoys speaking with members to best direct their inquiries and loves serving the many friends of our industry. Whatever question you may have for the Council, Delta is often the first person you will reach and is always ready to assist.

Delta is married to Eddie and is originally from South Carolina before moving to Commerce, GA.  Delta and Eddie have two grown children and a grandchild.

Maggie Wooten
Events and Member Support Manager
Maggie Wooten joined the GAC staff as Events and Member Support Manager in 2017. From a family farm in Dougherty County with a heart for service, she does everything from graphic design and marketing to event planning and organizing. Maggie is the point person for GAC events, including the Annual Meeting, State Legislative Breakfast, and Harvest Celebration. These duties include the Silent Auction and Field of Dreams portions of Harvest Celebration, as well as the GAC membership directory and sponsorship opportunities. 

Maggie is a 2014 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a degree in Graphic Communications Management.  She currently resides in Athens.
